Party PokerParty Poker is the largest poker room on-line; they often have more than 70,000 players playing at any given time. Because of the sheer number of players in the room Sit and Go tournaments have been known to fill up in sixty seconds or less. With Party Poker it's not so much a matter of waiting for a game to start, as it is a matter of trying to find an open seat before it's claimed.Party Poker has the following games: Texas Hold'em, Omaha Hi, Omaha 8 or Better, Seven Card Stud, and Seven Card Stud 8 or Better poker. These are offered in limit, pot limit and no-limit formats for both ring games and tournaments. However, despite offering ring games it is the tournament play that Party Poker stands out in. Party Poker has several times hosted online guaranteed Million Dollar tournaments, and they are hosting a World Poker Tour event, The Party Poker Million. This tournament starts off modestly with online satellites that cost players a $32 entry fee, and ends up in a face-to-face poker tournament played aboard a luxury cruise ship on its way to Mexico. The winners share an estimated $7,000,000 prize pool (the first place winner takes home $1,300,000 and the rest is shared among the next 179 place players). While a lot of attention is directed toward the huge feature tournaments at Party Poker, much more modest tournaments are also offered. Party Poker hosts single and multi-table Sit and Go tournaments that allow you to play tournament poker at a time convenient to you rather than having to wait for a listed starting time. Party Poker also has STEP tournaments. STEP tournaments are a series of small tournaments for 10 or 20 players that start off at step one (a low buy-in tournament with a total buy in of $12). The winners of step one tournaments play against each other to advance to step two and the winners of step two tournaments go on to step three, and so on until step five. At the step five tournament the top four places share the pot. The STEP pot is $20,000 for the 20 player series and $10,000 for the 10 player series. Party Poker rewards both new players and those who play regularly with a bonuses plan. First time players who make a modest deposit receive a bonus of $25 in bonus money. First time players who make larger deposits receive a bonus of 20% of the deposit (to a maximum of $100) in bonus money. A more appropriate bonus given to new tournament players is free entry into the Party Poker Million their World Poker Tour event. Players who regularly spend time at Party Poker earn Party Points for simply playing poker at the real money tables. These Party Points can be redeemed by the players for merchandise.
